What's New in r501
Release r501 was published on 2 Sep, 2026
In this release the 3D model object now supports cross-fading animations, allowing a smooth appearance as animations change, rather than suddenly snapping to a new animation. We've also got two new features to make project-wide layer updates. While global layers manage the content of layers, managing your actual layer list across many layouts in a large project could become a headache, and these features are designed to resolve that. First of all the new replicate layer across project option in the Layers Bar will find all other layers in the project with the same name and update their layer properties and sub-layers to match. This adds, removes and moves sub-layers by their name - but that means renaming a layer will be treated as deleting the layer and adding a new empty one. To fix that case, there's also a separate rename layer across project option. Hopefully these allow for easier management of layer trees across a large project. Please note as these make changes across your entire project, we recommend making a backup of your project before using them, as if anything goes wrong it could leave you with a lot of cleanup work.
As ever there are a few other changes and bug fixes noted in the changelog below. Happy testing!
